Red Market

RedMKT_SquareCover_BC.jpg

Last Friday (05/17/19) I finally released an album I had been working on for quite a while, named Red Market. It is a dark-electro-industrial album with themes revolving around Hollywood cults, elite blood transfusions, human trafficking, the weaponized porn industry, and related things.

It’s available now at http://nervewar.net/redmarket and on bandcamp at http://redmarket.bandcamp.com

It is also available as a limited edition red tint cassette that comes with a 1” pin and 5 panel j-card.

There is also an ultra-limited VHS tape with visualizations of every song that comes with a 6 panel insert and 3” square sticker. There are only 25 of these that will be in existence!

Last fall/winter I actually performed this material live on a couple occasions. First time I had done anything live in a little over a decade. Sheesh! Now that the album is done, I’m going to see if I can set up a couple more shows this year… We shall see :)

ASCII Witchcraft

ASCII Witchcraft is a darkelectro/new-wave-ish project with one full length album under their belt, titled Antischism. While seductive vocals layered over grinding bass synthesizers and repetitive kicks are pretty much the standard recipe for this particular style (a recipe that works for me), ASCII Witchcraft adds enough of their own seasoning to make them stand apart.

The duo also takes their work into the visual realm to great effect, with numerous videos that fit the vibe of each track beautifully.

But enough of my babbling, hit play below and enjoy some ASCII Witchcraft!

FLESH

While the witch house genre seemed to explode in popularity and implode over night, there are still numerous artists keeping the spirit alive, and stronger than ever. One of the strongest acts is Hamburg, Germany's FLESH. For the most part, FLESH sticks to the more atmospheric-wing of witch house, managing to feel like it would be equally at home as a soundtrack to an actual horror film, or pumping in your local underground club. To these ears, that's a pretty sweet spot to be in. Hit play below and sink your teeth into some FLESH!

Poni Hoax

Poni Hoax are an electronic/pop/rock act out of France formed in 2001. The band utilizes many different moods and styles, from upbeat funky jams to moody downtempo tracks that would fit well in a David Lynch movie. Obviously I'm drawn to their tracks that fit in the latter. The band shines best to these ears when they focus on brooding vocals that hit right in the gut. For this reason, the latest album Tropical Suite has yet to really click with me, as it overall has a brighter atmosphere, but I've been enjoying much of the bands past catalog. Here are a few of my favorite tracks. The Paper Bride and Budapest (a collaboration with Olga Kouklaki) are downright infectious. Enjoy!

mulpHia

mulpHia is a dark electro project by Richard Viduna based out of the Czech Republic. Richard masterfully creates an ominous, yet infectious atmosphere on nearly every track on the latest release The Hormones of Happiness. This album is my first introduction to mulpHia, and it is an excellent first introduction indeed. I've since dug a little deeper into Volani and The Rise and Fall of the Sinful Soul, and have thoroughly been enjoying them as well. I'll be looking forward to digging further into the rather extensive discography of the artist. Hit play and make sure and support the artist if you like what you hear!

Nova Spire

Nova Spire is a genre-diverse electronic artist based out of Ottawa, Canada. His latest release Eschaton is the most powerful of his work that I've heard so far. It's a tasteful blend of darkelectro, industrial and ebm, with a bleak atmosphere that would make 1990's Trent Reznor want to go crawl in a hole and die.

Hit the play button below, and as always if you like what you hear, make sure and throw the artist some cash for his hard work.
